Types of Psychotherapy

EMDR

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing

EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy that helps people process and heal from distressing memories. It involves recalling traumatic events while engaging in bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping), which helps the brain reprocess these memories so they feel less intense and disruptive.

ACT

ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT encourages individuals to accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while also helping them clarify what matters most to them. It combines mindfulness strategies with behaviour change techniques to support a values-based, meaningful life.

CBT

CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

CBT is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It helps individuals identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and develop more balanced ways of thinking and coping.

IFS

IFS

Internal Family Systems Therapy

IFS is a therapy that helps people understand and work with the different parts of themselves — like the part that gets anxious, the part that tries to stay in control, or the part that holds old emotional pain. Rather than seeing these parts as “bad” or trying to get rid of them, IFS helps people listen to and support them with curiosity and compassion. The goal is to create more inner balance and help your “core self” lead with calm, clarity, and confidence.
